Our family is new to Offshore fishing with Enterprise, what about the weather and sea conditions?
Enterprise is the largest of the offshore boats on Marco Island, but that does not make us immune from the effects of high seas, which are a possible problem in the winter months. The subject of wind, waves and weather patterns in Southwest Florida could easily fill pages of text. Briefly, the weather and sea conditions year round are generally excellent. Mild breezes, calm water and sunny skies are the norm.

The exceptions are cold fronts in the winter which can bring strong onshore winds generating high seas. All the captains of the Marco River Marina charter fleet are weather-wise and co-operate in "calling" the conditions when the seas are rougher; networking on VHF radio. Every business has different policies and practices when faced with uncomfortable seas or perhaps a sea-sick passenger. Enterprise policy has always been fair to our clients as opposed to the fast buck "puke and pay"!

If the seas are going to be too rough, we simply won't go. If it turns rough while we're out and we're not having fun then we sometimes come back early and fudge the fees. In the summertime we can possibly have thunderstorms. Enterprise has the most complete electronics suite of any charter boat in the area including 24 mile weather radar and real-time satellite weather coverage (like on your home TV) so we are never surprised by weather.
